But that evening, I couldn’t sleep. My mind was racing. Wouldn’t this be great? My basic idea started as a plan to make glass bubble wands for weddings. I thought they would be great gifts for celebrations. I down loaded legal documents off an Internet site and carefully filled them out. I still didn’t know the artist’s last name. All I knew was that I was meeting Lawrence, the glass artist at the park in the morning.
When I arrived we decided it might be better to sit at the picnic table by the side of the lake and chat before we headed to breakfast and a clambering restaurant. It was a cool gray Seattle morning, feeling actually quite damp but peaceful. I learned more about Lawrence, he shared with me that he was in a place in his life where he was open to change and a new direction and he would consider what I had to share. We waded through my downloaded legal document and made a few changes here and there, but continued with trust.
I had put sticky squares all along the statement sharing exactly what “item” he would be making with me. We both signed and I did a lame version of “Ta – da –ta –da!…Bubble Wands”. We were alone and had the park to ourselves. Lawrence peeled up the sticky squares, his eyes grew wide and he looked alarmed, his back straightened and he gave a little shiver. Now I was a little worried, what had come over this guy? I didn’t think the idea of a bubble wand was that “off the wall”. He pointed behind me and said, “Oh my gosh, look”. I turned around and there floating by me was a 2ft diameter rainbow bubble and another and another!!! A young boy up the hill from us was making huge ribbon bubbles and they were floating gently by, right at the exact moment that the bubble wand idea was shared. Lawrence and I were both dumb struck, in awe “Well …. I guess this is a sign for both of us. We have to see where this goes!” We agreed that this endeavor would create a circle of giving, we would keep the positive message going and thus make our mission more meaningful.
That evening I began journaling. I could not keep all my ideas in my head. I was having wave after wave of thoughts and intentions. That is when the name came, Bubble Wish Wands, they would be magical just like the bubbles they create. Their purpose would be to let people focus their good will (intentions). They would be a reminder of the power of our thoughts and actions, the difference each person can make. They would also be an avenue and a way to teach goal setting and positive intention to children.
So we are on the path, following our bubble wishes and we’ll see where it takes us. Thus far, it has been amazing.
